In his message of 6-28-00, Stephen Esrati said his atlases couldn't tell
him where Schoenlanke, Provinz Posen" was. My 1962 Columbia LIppencott
Gazetteer referred me to "Trszcianka." Under the entry for Trszcianka, it
says that it was in Pomerania and had in 1939 a population of 9,618, which
was reduced by 1946 to 4,482. Forty percent of the town was destroyed during
WW II . It is 15 miles west southwest of Schneidemuhl, and it was known for
furniture manufacturing and sawmilling.
