I have been trying to figure out the Hebrew name for my late uncle Nat
(Nathan). The only reference I have to it is the name listed on his 1921
Polish passport. (He was emigrating >from Ukraine.) He was a child at the
time and his name was listed as Nojchenen. There is no surviving family
who can help and I have not been able so far to locate his burial place.
Is Nojchenen a diminuative for Nachum, or are there other possibilities?
In particular, is there any chance he could be Naftali? (That would help
me to make more sense of my family tree.)
