The Jewish Genealogical Society of Oregon (JGSO) invites you to JGSO's
December meeting.

Date: Wednesday, December 13, 2000 (One Week Earlier Than Usual!)
Time: 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm
Place: Mittleman Jewish Community Center (MJCC)
6651 SW Capitol Highway
Portland, Oregon

This meeting features a presentation on

What's New in Jewish Genealogy
>from the Year 2000 IAJGS Conference
presented by Ron Doctor, Sandra Shapiro, and Elliot & Sue Axel

Our speakers attended the Year 2000 IAJGS Conference in Salt Lake City last
July. They will discuss:

* Exciting new developments at JewishGen
* New Yad Vashem database coming on-line
* New Jewish resources at the Mormon Family History Library
* What is a SIG and howit can help your research
* Researching in the former Soviet Union
* Genetics & Jewish genealogy

This event is free to JGSO members. Contribution of $2 at the door is
requested >from non-members. Contribution is credited to membership if you
join JGSO at the meeting. Light refreshments will be available.

This meeting kicks off our new Shmooze session. >from 7:30 to 8:00 pm,
browse through the resources that JGSO will have available and talk to
JGSO experts about genealogy problems you have encountered.
