I am posting this for a personal friend whose mother was Rose GROSSMAN
who married Benjamin HEYMAN in 1925 in Brooklyn. The couple moved to
Baltimore and had one son and one daughter. Rose died in 1932 and the
children lost contact with their Mother's family. The daughter is now
seeking any living descendants of her grandparents:
Anna (GOLDBERG) and Israel/Isador/Isaac GROSSMAN immigrated to New York
City circa 1890/91. According to the 1900 census, Anna was born January
1874 and Israel was born May 1872, both in Russia. Israel died sometime
between 1920 and 1926. He may be the Israel Grossman who died in Brooklyn
in 1923 and is now buried in the Children of Israel Section of Old
Montefiore. Anna's date of death is unknown.
They had nine children: Lena/Lillian (1892-?); Jacob (1894-?); Fanny (1896
- ?); Hyman/Herman (1898- ?); Louis (1900-?); Rose (1901-1933); Yetta
(1903 - ?); Archie (1912 - 1992); Mildred (1914 - ?). The family moved
frequently both in Lower Manhattan and after moving to Brooklyn sometime
between 1903 and 1912. Married names of the daughters other than Rose are
unknown. Marriage information on the sons is unknown except for Archie
who married Ida Estrin in Brooklyn in 1937. Archie was remembered to have
palled with Arthur GROSSMAN and a witness at his wedding was Al GROSSMAN.
If anyone knows about this family, please contact me.
