I have just read your most recent post to Jewishgen regarding Jewish
emigrants in Cherbourg, and have gone back and read your interesting
explanation of one month ago .
Cherbourg apparently was used not just by people leaving Europe for the
first time. I have located the second arrival in the U.S. of my
grandmother's sister, in 1924. She left Europe >from Cherbourg, aboard the
Aquitainia. She had been visiting in Grodno.
I assume this means she would have traveled by rail >from Grodno to France
rather than by boat >from Bremen or Hamburg.
