A friend >from Memel (now Kleipeda) in Lithuania who is not online is
looking for any surviving contemporaries and has asked me to post the
following in the hope that it may result in some responses:

Her name was Dora RABINOWITZ, her parents were Hirsch Tzvi and Yetta
RABINOWITZ. She had two brothers, Moses and Micha and a sister, Frieda.
Their address was xx Kantstrasse and her father's business was Rabinowitz
and Spitz, which imported and distributed china.

When Lithuania was invaded her family were sent to the ghetto in Shovl
(Siauliai). In 1944 she was sent to Stutthof, which was a deathcamp,
where she remained until liberation. She says that there were only 107
survivors >from Stutthof. Her mother and Moses and Frieda did not
survive. Her father, who was sent to another camp, and her brother
Micha who was in the Soviet Union at the time of the invasion, both
survived, and her brother is still alive and lives in Israel.

After the liberation, Dora married a British soldier named Frank LOVE,
and came with him back to England. They later emigrated to South Africa
where Dora taught at King David School in Johannesburg. They had two
children Seth LOVE, who is a neuropathologist in Bristol, and Janet
LOVE, who became active in the ANC and is now a member of the South
African govenment. Dora and Frank left South Africa in the seventies,
lived for a while in Israel and now live in Colchester, England.

Dora would very much like to find out what happened to the other
Stuffhof survivors or any friends >from her schooldays in Memel, and make
contact with any who are still alive.

If anyone would like to reply to me privately I will pass their messages
on to Dora.
