JewishGen Discussion Group #JewishGen Re: "Tikkoschon" #general

In her message of Feb.2/02 Mimi Katz asked about the town of Tikkshchon,

Possibly this is Tykocin, northwest of Bialystok. According to Chester G.
Cohen's Shtetl Finder Gazetteer its Yiddish name is Tiktin.

I could not find an entry for it my Columbia Lippincott Gazetter, nor
could I find any entries for the "Navare" River in it nor in the several
big atlases of the world which I've accumulated over years of going to
neighborhood yard sales.
