Vital records for Salzwedel - starting late 1700's #germany

Judith Elam

My g-g-grandmother, Emilie HIRSCHBERG NATHAN, was born in Salzwedel,
probably around 1810 - 1815. Her father was Moses HIRSCHBERG, who died in
Salzwedel before her marriage on August 30, 1868 to Wulff NATHAN, probably
in Salzwedel too.

Does anyone know where I can obtain vital records >from Salzwedel for this
period? A search on the LDS website reveals there is a book in German on
the Jews of Salzwedel, but it doesn't say what period it covers, and
unfortunately I don't read or understand German well enough to tackle the
book!

I have e-mailed the Standesamt in Salzwedel, but I doubt their records will
go back that far.
