Abraham Wormser was the rabbi of a synagogue called Shearith Israel
(not the famous "Spanish & Portuguese Synagogue" of the same name)
in the "KleineDeutschland" section of New York City in the Lower East Side
during the mid to late 1800s.
It was located at 98 Avenue C. Is anyone familiar with Wormser or the
synagogue and what became of it?
Ultimately, I'm interested in whether any records (of marriages, etc.)
survive. Thanks, [MOD NOTE - This should also go to the Early American list]
