"Thank you" to Warren Blatt and JewishGen for making this InfoFile available,
and also to Marian Smith for creating it. To say that it is a "comprehensive
reference guide".........I don't think I have ever seen anything this
comprehensive online before! It's more than comprehensive.
Now that I have said that........there seems to be something that I either
missed or isn't there. It is this:
In the column "Cause for Detension" on The Record of Aliens Held for Special
Inquiry the notation is LPC which I know is "Likely to be Public Charge",
however on that same line just before the name of the Inspector is a
number----400. Others on the page have the number 320. It is a straight
number----no dots or dashes. It does not look like it could be 'time.'
I have looked through the appropriate section of the InfoFile and find no
explanation of the number.
What does that number mean?
