Uriw is the yidish name of a town in Bessarabia(Moldova today).
The romanian name is Orhei,
and the russian one is Orgheyev.

Good luck in your researches,
Marcel
What a surprise, Haim.

I've been familiar with two 'equivalent' names of the Moldavian Orhei:
Org(h)eyev and Orhaiv.
Uriw is a newly discovered name for me and it is very important to the
researchers of the major Jewish town in Besarabia.

It is obviously a great assistance for Denise Azbill research.
