My MAYPER and CHIPKIN relatives immigrated to New York in the late 1880's
and early 1890's. Shortly after their arrival, they moved to Rosenhayn, New
Jersey and became part of the Baron de Hirsch agricultural settlement.
I would like to know how my relatives became Hirschian farmers. Were they
recruited while still in Lithuania or did an agent entice them to join the
agricultural settlement after they arrived in New York? Does anyone else
have a connection to Rosenhayn? Does anyone know if historical records have
survived >from the Rosenhayn colony?
Thank you and my thanks to all of those who responded to my earlier 1900
census question. You are the greatest!
