Dear Fellow Genealogists,

Stammbaum is being revived as a free digital journal published by Gersig
and the Leo Baeck Institute in New York City. It will be on the Leo Baeck and
the Gersig web sites. We are looking for writers.

Stammbaum was the first and only English language publication of
German Jewish genealogy. The last printed issues were published by
the Leo Baeck Institute until about 2007.

The first Stammbaum was available only by paid subscription. Now you
may read all the back issues and download them for free on the Leo Baeck web
site. We are calling the new publication Stammbaum2.

Our mission is to further German-Jewish genealogy and family history. We
will facilitate the exchange of helpful and sound information, techniques,
sources, and archival material. We will include human interest and anecdotal
material. The focus, as before, is on Germany. However, our scope will
include Austria. Switzerland, Alsace, Bohemia and other regions with linguistic
and historic relevance.

Please submit manuscripts and pictures in digital format and questions to
us at _Stammbaum2@gmail.com_ (mailto:Stammbaum2@gmail.com).
Jeanette Rosenberg in London and myself, Linda Levine in Cambridge,
Massachusetts will be co-editors. We will be joined editorially by Frank
Mecklenburg of the Leo Baeck Institute. Jeanette and I are friends and fourth
cousins with common roots in the southwestern German town of Freudental.

Please feel free to cross post this and let all interested parties know
that we are looking for writers.

Linda Levine, Cambridge, Massachusetts Stammbaum2@gmail.com
