Return of Nazi-era confiscated books to rightful owners SITE CITE #germany
Between 1933 and 1945 German Jews sold books and other assets in order just
to survive. They were also required to relinquish their assets prior to
emigration. In addition, books were seized by the Nazis. These assets are
commonly referred to as "confiscated assets".
The Zentral- und Landesbibliothek Berlin is in possession of confiscated
books. The Landesbibliothek wants to return these books to the rightful
owners, or their heirs.
Below is a link to a list of the original owners and the contact information
for the Landesbibliothek.
