Just learned today that my mom's first cousin Jacob
Rosenberg b. 1892 IL, Parents Sarah Singman Rosenberg and
Max or Morris Rosenberg may have married In Boston to
Anne Webber or Weber, a jewish woman >from Halifax,
from 1919 on he was in the US Navy and around the1920s on a ship that docked at Halifax, NS for repairs.
He was invited to join a Jewish family where he met the
daughter Anne Webber. Then he was in a nightclub in Boston
in which the floor collapsed and his leg was smashed
( I would hope this made the Boston papers) and Anne went
to Boston to visit him. They may have Married there around
1924-1927 as the l930 US Census in New London, CT
has them living there near the US Coast Guard Academy and
being married four years. Actually, he was in the census
at the Coast GuardAcademy and was the enumerator for
the entire ED.
They had no children and he was in the Navy all his
life and probably retired as a Commander. Upon retirement he
lived in Washington DC and died in Dec. 1961.
I am interested in finding their marriage certificate
in Boston and would be happy to swap a search for anyone
interested in a vital record in the NYC archives.
