Few resources survived about the Jews of Florence
of the 17th century: The oldest are:
1) six files "Acts and Decrees" (Atti e Decreti) years 1652-1722
2) seven files "Statements" (Comparse) years 1620-1749
3) eight files (Decreti, Sentenze) years 1720-1800
These registers are sored in the collection "Nazione Israelitica" at the
National Archive of Florence (Archivio di Stato di Firenze).

Subject: 1600's Firenze ITALY
A neighbor of mine knows that his ancestor Salman LEVI (at least that whathe
assumes his surname was) moved >from Italy to Holland in about 1625, wherethe
took the surname d'ITALIE. Family tradition has it that they lived inFirenze.
I understand that leading up to that time there were maybe a hundredJewish
families in the city and I have no idea if there were more than one LEVI.
