In 1943 the last secrecetary of the Jewish community in Fuerth, Miss Grete
Ballin was ordered by the Gestapo Nuernberg-Fuerth to compile a record of
events in the community covering the years 1933-1943.
The "Ballin chronicles" are the only known existing records of the
"Isrealitische Kultusgemeinde Fuerth" of that era. In 1943 Miss Grete Ballin
perished in the Holocaust.
