The note in a Cincinnati newspaper death notice, "Detroit papers please
pick up," unlocked an entire branch of my husband's family. I
immediately looked in a current Detroit phone book, phoned one name and
found that his cousin was a genealogist who had the entire tree. We had
no idea that the family originally emigrated to Detroit. These notes
can be major clues!
