I found the ships manifest for my grandmother on the ellis island web site.
The manifest shows that she was born in Zodora, Roumania and the closest family there was at 12 Bokorina Zodora.
Her name is Marie Finder (arrival 12/19/1921 @ 17 years old - see line 16; go back one page). The manifest is type written so it is easily readable.
I cannot find Zodora anyhwere. I have tried everything that I know how to do. I am assuming that the name sounds like zodora but is actually something else but soundex doesn't list anything even close (i dont think).
Does anyone have any idea where Zodora Romania is?
