Yes, as Nowe Siolo, it is the name of a town in the former Austrian province
of Galicia.. Actually, there may have been three places in Galicia that had
that name. Two are in Modern Ukraine and one in modern Poland. The one in
Poland and one of the two in Ukraine seem to have retained that name,
according to Where Once We Walked (Second Edition)

Dear JewishGen
A friend of ours, Thelma Goldrosen Kesselman, who was one of eight children
born in the Boston area is trying to track down relatives. She knows that
her grandfather, Max Goldrosen, came to the US before World War One. As to
where he came from, she had a Yiddish letter which someone transliterated as
Nowesiolo, Poland and in parentheses wrote Austria. This leads us to believe
that he came >from Galicia.
Does this town name ring any bells?
