JewishGen Discussion Group #JewishGen Rochester NY/Stone Road Cemetery Grave With No Stone #general

For years I have searched Stone Road Cemetery for
my grandfather's grave. My great grandparents,
their daugther who is my grandmother, and my
parents are all buried in the Waad Hakolel
section of the cemetery. There is an unmarked
grave next to my grandmother; it is logical to
assume this is my grandfather, although I can't
document this. Perhaps there never was a stone,
or it may have fallen and been hauled away. If I
could document that this empty space is my
grandfather's grave, I would like to erect a
stone. I'm sure the cemetery does not allow one
to just put up a stone on an unmarked plot
without some documetation as to who is buried
there. There is no index to this cemetery; it
seems a hopeless task to domument that this is
his grave.

I would appreciate any comments, suggestions, or
information about how to go about doing this.
