JewishGen Discussion Group #JewishGen Re: Surnames OSSUR and OSHER the same? #general

Nachum Tuchman

Hi,

In Lithuania, the Hebrew name Asher (first name or surname) was pronouned
Osser. I would think that both OSSUR and OSHER are the same name.

Nachum Tuchman
Tekoa, Israel

I have been searching unsuccessfully for the surname OSSUR in Gargzdai,
Lithuania. The All Lithuania Database has quite a few entries for OSHER in
that town. Does anyone know if this is the same name?
