ViewMate Translation Request - German #germany

Peter Dreifuss

Dear Gersiggers,

I've posted three consecutive 1864 death records in German for my
Altdorf, Baden family for which I have requested a translation. The
three records appear together on one page. Although I requested a
translation, perhaps the largest challenge will be in the interpretation
of the script used.

It is on ViewMate at the following address ...
http://www.jewishgen.org/viewmate/viewmateview.asp?key=VM29122
I have known for many years about the 1864 deaths of Lissett DREIFUSS,
who appears to have been stillborn on April 13, her mother Rosa (nee
BERNHEIMER) DREIFUSS on April 16 and 9 year old Simon DREIFUSS on June
15. Rosa, my great great grandmother, would appear to have died from
complications of childbirth. The reason for Simon's death is unknown.
It is hoped that these records could shed light on whether there is some
surrounding event in Altdorf that year, which also led to the
disappearance of Rosa's husband Isaac DREIFUSS and the death of other
DREIFUSS and BERNHEIMER family that same year. The consequence of these
1864 events led to a family of DREIFUSS orphaned children, who one by
one would emigrate to New York beginning in 1868.

Please respond via the form provided in the ViewMate application.
Thank you very much,

Peter A. Dreifuss, Burtonsville, MD padreifuss@...
