I have a civil marriage certificate for Cessy Budlender and Celia Geringer
dated 31 January 1899, Cape Town. This came as a complete surprise to the
family as no-one knew Cessy was married before!
How can I find out what happened to Celia- the NAAIRS (South African
Archives) website has no reference to a divorce or a deceased estate.Where
else could I look? The Johannesburg Beth Din informed me they do not have
records going back that far.(should there have been a divorce)


He married his second wife, Gertrude, probably around 1905, but this record
too remains elusive.
