I just joined the group. I have been doing genealogy research for 6
months. I consider myself to be a beginner in doing German Jewish
Genealogy research. I live in suburban Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.
My native language is English. I consider myself intermediate in using
the computer. My experience in using the Internet is intermediate.

I have identified the names and birth and death dates of four of my
grandparents, eight of my great grandparents and one of my great great
grandparents.

My primary research goals now are to find out: My grandfather Samuel STRAUSS'
siblings. My JGFF Researcher ID number is 544036. The family names and
ancestral towns in Germany that I have entered in the JGFF (JewishGen
Family Finder) are:

MOSES - Oberndorf/Wetzlar - Seeking any information on Pauline MOSES'
siblings and their descendants. Pauline b. 1876 to Moses Moses and
Jette Loew, both residents of Oberndorf; Especially seeking Holocaust
fate of siblings and their spouses and children.

STRAUSS - Gerson MD b. 1866 in Unterriedenberg settled in New Haven,
CT in 1878. What is his relationship to Samuel STRAUSS, my
grandfather, who died in Frankfurt AM in 1929?

Gerson's daughter Florence Levine nee STRAUSS sponsored the
immigration of my mother Erna STRAUSS in 1938 but I do not understand
their relationship.

Hypothesizing that Gerson and Samuel were brothers but can not validate.
Gerson's spouse listed as Anna and Ella in various sources. Would like
to know if these are the same woman.

ELIAS - Hachenburg, Westerwald - Seeking the fate of two sisters
Settchen Loewenberg nee ELIAS, her spouse and children as well as
Amalia ROSENTHAL nee ELIAS, her spouse and children. Possibility they
were deported to Riga in 1942. Some evidence that Settchen and her
husband were sent to Bendorf Sayn. Parents were Samuel ELIAS, b. 1840
in Kirburg and Henriette BLUMENTHAL, b. 1837 in Mengerskirchen.
ELIAS - Hachenburg, Westerwald. Seeking fate of Moritz ELIAS b.1870 to
Samuel and Henriette.
