JewishGen Discussion Group #JewishGen Re:JGFF - cousins reunited - too! #general

Renee's message has prompted me to reconfirm the power of JewishGen and it's
FamilyFinder database.

In the past several weeks I have been contacted by two cousins >from 2
different family branches.
They had read my entries in the JGFF when searching their ancestral surname.

One message proved to be >from a young woman in New Jersey whom I identified
immediately as my paternal half 2nd cousin - once removed, same
Great-Grandfather - different Great-Grandmother [or as I am more apt to
say - my fifth cousin].
She is just beginning her genealogical research, but we exchanged
photographs of our mutual ancestors and have continued our correspondence.

The second message pertained to my husband's Mother's family - a 2nd
cousin's daughter-in- law living in Arizona [originally >from Minnesota],
researching her husband's ancestry. She brought us back in touch with
members of the family with whom we had lost contact many years ago.

This was not the first time JGFF has been instrumental in bringing "lost"
members together in the six family branches which I have concentrated upon
in my research.

The Moderator suggested
<< A good way to mark such a success is by making a financial contribution
to the work of JewishGen.>>

May I also suggest that JGS Societies contribute as well? Take the time to
view Jewishgen's Fact Sheet.
The figures may surprise you!
