Dear Friends

I am new to searching my family genealogy and would like to find information
on a Canadian relative.

He was born in Canada and was an orthodox Jew and would have certainly been
bar-mitzvah in the City of Toronto. (Would there be records of this?).

He was born around 1923 and served in the 1st Division of the Canadian Army
in the UK around 1943-5. (Would there be records of this?)

His name was Seymour (Nick-name Slim) ELLISON (maybe ALLISON).

Any information members can give me on how to start this task would be
greatly appreciated.
