Death Certificates are signed by officials, not family. The name of one
child might appear if that person was an informant for the official.

On the other hand, the Social Security Administration is not a source for
Death Certificates. Those must be obtained >from the city or state
government of the location where the person died. Depending on how long ago
the person died, the agency could be a Health Department or an Archive.
