Yiddish name, why not Gertrude?
I gather that they are both of German origin.

If I would have to guess I would say Gertrude byI am not particularly familiar with Yiddish names, but if Ethel was a
process of elimination. As in Yiddish;
Ethel = Ethel
Sara = Sara or any derivative thereof
Rose = Roiza
Gertrude = ?
Yiddish name, why not Gertrude?
I gather that they are both of German origin.
