On 2007.06.06, Rose Raymen <rr.raymen@optusnet.com.au> asked:

My grandparents, Abram and Ruda ZILBERSZTEJN were divorced in
Kalisz, Poland, in the 1920s and I was wondering if the USC would
have kept divorce records at the time?
Nope... There was no mechanism for directly registering divorces as
separate vital records in Poland's civil recordkeeping infrastructure.
On the other hand, if any of your grandparents remarried, you would
find a reference to the previous marriage and divorce in the new
marriage record.
