researching my German family from Hesse including the Vogelsberg area #germany

Ken Krug

Hello GerSig,

I just joined the group. I have been doing genealogy research for
several years. I consider myself to be intermediate doing German Jewish
Genealogy research. I have visited the region and many of the towns and
cemetaries.

I live in Berkeley California and also have a home in LA. My native language
is English and I have some Hebrew and French.
I consider myself advanced in using a computer and my experience with
using the internet is extensive.

I have an interest in genealogy research using DNA and have entered
my autosomal results in Ancestry, FamilyTreeDNA and Gedmatch.

I have identified the names and birth and death dates of many members of
my family including some of my great great great grandparents.

My primary research goals now are to find out more about my family
history going back in time and to discover unknown cousins and family
branches.

My JGFF Researcher ID number is 250730
The family names and ancestral towns that I have entered in the JGFF
(JewishGen Family Finder) include the following. These are mostly
rural villages or small towns. In most cases I know family names from
the past and place names but don't have any other identifying
information.

BLUMENTHAL Nidda, Birstein; GOLDSCHMIDT Runkel, Villmar;
GRUNEWALD Giessen; HAAS Rulzheim; HEISCHELHEIM Giessen;
HEISCHELLHEIM and HESCHELHEIM >from Giessen; ROTHSCHILD Echzell;
SOMMER Birstein; SOMMER Crainfeld; STRAUSS Bad Soden Am Taunus, Crainfeld,
Gedern, and Niederhofheim; WALLENSTEIN Giessen, Lauterbach, and Nidda;
