A researcher in Lithuania asked me about the word "kierkul." He said he found this
word on an 1853 map of Marijampole. He wrote: "That territory we know as 'old Jews
cemetery,' and one Polish colleague said that 'kierkul" means 'Jews cemetery,' but
I can't find this word in Polish. Maybe it is old Polish language?"
Thanks if anyone can help.
