Barbara Hughes <jhughes@...>
Hello GerSig, I just joined the group. I have been doing genealogy
research for 25 years. I consider myself to be a beginner in doing
German Jewish Genealogy research--because I just learned of Jewish
heritage via DNA test showing my father was Haplogroup J1e Ashkenazi.
I live in Georgia, USA. My native language is English.
I consider myself advanced in using a computer. My experience in using
the Internet is Advanced.
I have identified the names of my father's parents, brother, and sister,
but know nothing else about them except one Census report stated my
grandparents were born in Berlin.
My primary research goals now are to find out anything about my
grandparents, aunt, and uncle; and to determine where my father was
between 1888 when he was born to 1915 when he first married in
Michigan-->from then on I have complete information on my father.
My Father: Benjamin Anthony RHOADES, b. Oct 25, 1888, Fleming, New
York (Cayuga Co); d. Feb 23, 1961, Naples FL
Mother: Sarah BERYENHOFF RHOADES born in Berlin, Germany
[BERGENHOFF? on some census]
Father: Anthony R. RHOADES, born in Berlin Germany [Berlin shown on
Brother: Harry RHOADES, born in Fleming NY sometime after 1888 when
Benjamin Anthony was born.
Sister: Ula RHOADES, born in Germany (unknown birth date or married name)
My JGFF Researcher ID number is 703229,
The family names and ancestral towns that I have entered in the JGFF
(JewishGen Family Finder) are
1 Bergenhof Berlin Germany
2 Beryenhof Berlin Germany
3 Beryenhoff Berlin Germany
4 Rhoades Berlin Germany
5 Rhoades Fleming, NY USA 1888
Any advice/information will be appreciated. Thank you,
Barbara Rhoades Hughes, Eastanollee, Georgia, USA. jhughes@...
