greetings.........Our synagogue has a Torah >from the town of Pribram,
which is south of Prague, under the Czech Memorial Torah Scroll program.
I would like to hear >from anybody with either a/ personal ties to the
town or b/ is in a congregation with one of the other 11 scrolls >from
Pribram. I have been gathering up information and would like to connect
with others similarly intersted in that community in order to recapture
as much as possible and perhaps put together a memorial book, maybe even
make a group trip to Pribram to present such a book in conjunction with
some kind of memorial service..Apparantly the cemetery is well cared for,
the synagogue is gone. I have spoken with a survivor who has visited the
town, [not his hometown, but extended family was there]. There are no Jews
remaining there that he knows of.
Please share this with appropriate people, our synagogue is seriously
interested in a collaborative effort to gather up whatever we can about the
Jewish community of Pribram that they may live on in memory. I will be at
the conference in Philly and on line, so you can look me up in person as well.
hoping to hear >from some of you......
