Dear JGDG enthusiasts,
I'm currently researching my Grandmother Rae BERKOWITZ's roots in
Wilkes-Barre and Hungary. (My GGF was Moritz Berkowitz and my GGGF was
Samuel Berkowitz.) The family originally settled in Wilkes-Barre in the
late 1800's. In the archives of Jewishgen and the family finder, I've
found queries >from two potential contacts, but the email and contact
information for both no longer seems to be valid. I was wondering if
any of the people listed below are still active with Jewishgen; or if
others know how to contact them. (I believe that most of the
Berkowitz's >from this time in Wilkes-Barre would have been family
members...and I would love to confirm >from where in Hungary/Slovakia
the family originally emigrated.)
These are the original enquiries:

Additionally, the family finder had a John TANNENBAUM seeking
information about Berkowitz's in Wilkes-Barre.
(This contact does not seem to be active.)
I know that one of my Berkowitz cousins (Ruth Berkowitz) married a Joe
Tannenbaum in the early 1900's; so I would like to share information.
If anyone knows how to reach Mark Freedman or Joe Tannenbaum; or has
information on the early Berkowitz's in Wilkes-Barre, I would be very
appreciative to hear >from you or them.
