I visited Peine in 1982 and found no evidence of Jewish families living there but then I can't say that my search was absolute in that respect. That is where by Paternal Great Grandfather Wilhelm Peine (von Peine) was from. I am still trying to research the family line. There are websites focusing on the region and ones which talk about synagogues in nearby towns or cities. But I haven't been able to find anything in Peine either. I too would be interested if anyone has any ideas or further information.
