Congressional legislation enacted in 2008 required the National Archives
(USA) to submit a report to Congress on alternate models for Presidential
archival depositories. There are three areas the report was to address:
Reducing the financial burden on the Federal Government ;
Improving the preservation of Presidential records, and
Reducing the delay in public access to all Presidential records.
The report proposes 5 models for Congress' consideration.
