I have been talking to a translator living in Kiev who is unsure what to charge for her services and that of a researcher in the Ukraine. She is unsure what the appropriate hourly rate (in US Dollars) is for her to translate genealogy documents that have been tracked down by another researcher. The research may need to be done in Khmelnitskyi in the Western Ukraine since that is where the archives have been moved to >from Kamianets Podolskyi to the State Archives of Khmelnytskyi Oblast. Obviously related expenses would be covered. Most importantly I am trying to come up with the hourly research fee for the researcher in Khmelknyskyi. Any other tips regarding hiring translators and researchers in the Ukraine would be very welcome. How important is it for the searcher to have had some experience in the field?
