after 1915 no city directory for Brooklyn was issued until one was issued in 1933-34 - the last one to be published for Brooklyn. Thereafter only telephone books are available.
--- Looking on the website for the NY Public Library and typing in Brooklyn phone book into their catalogue shows that they have phone books dating >from the early 1920s forward on microfilm. Prior to that all of New York City had a single phone book.
However I made a cautionary statement to the person who asked the original question which is in this time frame of the 1920s phones were not as ubiquitous as they are today. So you could check the phone book but not everyone had a telephone in their residence in this era.
