The Public Library in Manhattan on 5th Avenue and 42nd Street has the phone
books all on microfilm. Since you have a time frame and a likely name and
even a general idea where they lived check the phone books for Williamsburg,
Brooklyn and see if you can spot them there. There are also some city
directories for Brooklyn in the 1930s which is another means of looking for
Other ideas would include things like the Old Man's draft cards in World
War II and just think in two years we will have the 1940 USA Census.
