Wondering if anyone might be familiar with the story of a Polish
General by the name of Lovenski. He was commissioned by Napoleon and
sent to Haiti during the Haitian Revolt in the late 1700's and early
1800's. As the story goes, he remained in Haiti where there exists
today many "blue-eyed" descendants.
There is some question as to whether the original name was "Levi or
Levy" and the family converted >from Judaism before before General
Lovenski left Poland.
