The Jewish Records Indexing-Poland database was updated with data indexed >from the
LDS Microfilms of Jewish Vital Records >from Poland.
I would like to thank our wonderful team of volunteers who worked tirelessly to
make the Shtetl CO-OP Project such a success.
New to the database is LDS data >from the town of Wawolnica.
Data was added and updated for the towns of Checiny, Chelm, Kepno, Kozienice,
Krzepice, Miedzyrzec Podlaski, Opole Lubelskie, Skierniwice, Sulejow, and
Szydlowiec.
More than 28,000 new LDS indices are now available on the database. Many thanks to
the following Coordinators and volunteers;
Nicole Heymans, Barry Klezmer, Sam Langer, Robinn Magid, Madeleine Okladek, David
Price, Andrzej Selerowicz, Sharon Zane and Stan Zeidenberg.
Of special note is the Miedzyrzec Podlaski data which is dedicated in loving memory
of Mila Begun Z"L, who was the original Shtetl CO-OP coordinator. After her
untimely death the partial files were obtained >from her husband with the help of
Madeleine Okladek. I would like to specially thank Robinn Magid for spearheading
the completion of this project.
Thanks to our behind the scenes support team of Howard Fink and Meira Putterman.
A special thank you to JRI-Poland Partners; The former Kielce-Radom SIG team, The
Douglas E. Goldman Jewish Genealogy Center at Beth Hatefutsoth; Haim Ghiuzeli, and
to CRARG under the leadership of Daniel Kazez.
Dziekuje to Mr. Michael Tobias who makes the data searchable to JRI-Poland
researchers worldwide.
Happy Hunting
