JewishGen Discussion Group #JewishGen Re: Viewmate--Surname adoption under Napoleon: seen any lists like this? #general

In the past years I found registers of surname adoption under Napoleon rule in
some towns of Italy ruled by the French:
- Alessandria,
- Asti,
- Firenze,
- Pisa,
- Livorno,

These records are of the years 1808-1809 and are mostly without a printed
scheme. You can see an example of the Italian declaration of adoption of surname
here:

BRAVERMAN >from Podolya GROBMAN Ukraine GARTZMAN/GARZMAN Ukraine
LUFT and GRUNBLATT Kolomya GRUNBLATT Kolomya OCCHIPINTI anywhere

Here is a page >from a census of Jews in Alzey, now in Germany's
Rhineland-Palatinate region... >
If you've seen a similar list >from anywhere, please let me know where I
could find it. Most likely places are France and those parts of Germany
west of the Rhine, but there may well be others.
