Almost all the records acquired by the Public Record Office of Ireland
before 1922 were destroyed by fire and explosion at the beginning of the Civil War in June 1922 and as a result, the material now held by the National Archives of Ireland dates mainly >from the 19th and 20th centuries, although there are a few surviving court and exchequer rolls dating to the early 14th century. The National Archives of Ireland website is: http://www.nationalarchives.ie/index.html which includes the 1901 and 1911 censuses on line. To find out more about what archives are available go to http://www.nationalarchives.ie/research/archives.html On the National Archives website there are links to a number Irish genealogy sites http://www.nationalarchives.ie/genealogy/links.html A number of Jews did stop in Ireland en route to North America, some staying for years...therefore, these archives may be of interest to those who had ancestors who did stop and or stay in Ireland.
