JewishGen Discussion Group #JewishGen Don't forget to recheck JGen resources periodically #general

Every four or six months I recheck the JewishGen and LitvakSIG databases for any
new info on my obscure MARUCHES ancestors. For a while, I found nothing new. But
yesterday I uncovered helpful Vilnius death and birth records that must have been
recently translated and posted: My g-g-grandfather's brother, Iosel Maruches, had
additional children (by his second or third wife) that I had not known about. The
record shows that one of the sons was baptized and changed his name in 1908 --which
matches a family story >from a distant cousin in Switzerland. This, plus a new death
record in infancy for another son, led me to reconfigure the family tree. And now
there are more possible relatives!

You may have the same luck. Even if you think your search was exhaustive, please
check again. You never know what gems the hard-working JGen volunteers may have
unearthed. I am making a small donation to LitvakSIG in appreciation.

Yours sincerely,
Lisa Grayson
