For many years, the late Michael Rademacher's site,
verwaltungsgeschichte.de, has provided excellent historical gazetteer
information for the former German Reich. Michael's family kept this
popular site up for years, but now it's gone blank.

Not to worry--nothing in cyberspace is ever really lost.
