JewishGen Discussion Group #JewishGen Researching my paternal grandfather, William Wolf KRANZ #general

Dear JewishGen SIG Members,

I subscribed to three SIGS (Austria-Czech, Hungarian and Warszawa) and
would like to send out a message to the appropriate groups. I am new
to Jewish genealogy and am trying to find information about my
paternal grandfather, William Wolf Kranz. I finally received the
correct death certificate and now I have names of his parents, my
great grandparents, Samuel & Yetta Kranz.

Since the ship manifest states he was born in Kozy, Poland and the
death certificate had Russia (my dad must have given that
information), I assume that the ship's information was supplied by my
grandfather himself and is more accurate. Grandfather was born
August, 1876, so his parents, Yetta & Samuel, would have been born
around 1850. Anyone who has additional information about this family
please contact me.Grandfather did not speak Russian or Polish. He
spoke Yiddish, German and read Hebrew. There are a few towns in
Poland called Kozy and I am trying to find out which town might have
info. about this family and more information about the family.

Thank you very much,
Faye Hirsty
