to my question, I telephoned the Census Bureau. The individual with whom I spoke told me she would contact the "History" staff. She came back and informed me that she was told that the 1940 Census Housing Schedule was destroyed in 1950. I find it interesting that the Housing schedule form is available for viewing / printing. At least we are able to see what sort of questions were asked. It is my further understanding that the Housing schedule was not filled out for every household -- only a sampling.
