Many of you know Joyce Field who was vice president of JewishGen for many
years. Her husband of 59.5 years, Les Field z"l, passed away on June 22
after a long battle with lymphoma.

Les was born in Montreal, Canada and met Joyce while both were studying at
Indiana University. Joyce and Les have two children and two grandchildren.
Les spent 35 years at Purdue University where he specialized in American
literature and wrote or edited ten books and about 200 articles or reviews.
