We all know that it is difficult to translate exactly >from one language
into another. Sure, if you are translating names and dates or
nouns and something that is fairly direct, it is not a problem.

But what has me stumped is when someone asks for help translating
something >from another language INTO English and it is
more complicated. A problem appears........do I allow the translation
into English keeping the feel of the other language, or do I
change the translation so that it is in proper English?

Sometimes the two are NOT the same, and there is the quandary.

Of course, this applies to translating any language into another. Is
there a standard to follow, an acceptable way of
translating?
